Sudurpaschim Province has reached the semi-finals of the fifth Gaindakot Mayor's Cup National T-20 Cricket Tournament being held in Gaindakot.

Sudur defeated Koshi Province by 61 runs on Sunday. Chasing a target of 161 runs, Koshi was bowled out for 99 runs in 19.1 overs. Kritik Kamat scored 19 runs in 17 balls, including a six and a four. Gaurav Katwal scored 18 runs in 25 balls, including a six and a four, captain Shakib Haque scored 16 runs in 19 balls, and Bhupal Dangal scored 13 runs in 18 balls. No other batsmen could reach double figures.

Sudurpaschim's Kailash Air, Saurya Shrestha and Lokendra Chand took 2 wickets each to bowl out Koshi cheaply, while Kiran Thagunna and Minal Bohara took one wicket each.

Earlier, Sudurpaschim, who had lost the toss and batted earlier, scored 160 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets. Ashish Tiruwa scored 47 runs with 4 sixes and 3 fours in 28 balls. Tek Rawat scored 38 runs with 2 sixes and 3 fours in 24 balls, captain Kiran Thagunna scored 28 runs with 2 sixes and 1 four in 24 balls and Lokendra Chand contributed 20 runs with 3 fours in 25 balls.

Gyanendra Shrestha of Koshi Province took 2 wickets, Shravan Kisku, Rohan Shah, Kritik Kamat took 1 wicket each. Ashish Tiruwa of Sudurpaschim was declared the player of the match in the match.

Host Gaindakot Mayors 11 will face Lumbini Province on Monday to qualify for the final, while Sudurpaschim and Madhesh Province will compete in the second semi-final.

The winner of the district's biggest cash competition will receive Rs 3 lakh and the runner-up Rs 2 lakh.
