UAE has put on a strong batting display against New Zealand in their Group D match. Half-centuries from Mohammad Wasim and Alison Sarfu helped UAE post a mammoth 173 for 6 in the match being played in Chennai.

New Zealand will now chase a target of 174 runs to win. For UAE, Sarfu scored 55 runs in 47 balls. He hit five fours and two sixes. Wasim remained unbeaten on 66 runs. His 45-ball innings included 4 fours and 3 sixes.

They shared a 107-run partnership for the second wicket. This is the UAE's first match in the tournament. New Zealand, on the other hand, is on two points after winning its first match.
