About 600 athletes from 40 dojangs will participate in the competition, said Bablu Siwakoti, the chief coach and president of the organizing dojang, at a press conference on Tuesday.
Sitapaila Taekwondo Dojang, in collaboration with Nagarjuna Municipality, will organize the Nagarjuna Deputy Mayor Cup, the 12th Sitapaila Kathmandu District Level Taekwondo Competition, from Falgun 28.
About 600 players from 40 dojangs will participate in the competition, said Bablu Siwakoti, the head coach and president of the organizing dojang, at a press conference on Tuesday. There will be a battle for 28 gold medals in Gyorogi, children, cadet, junior and senior, and in Poomsae, cadet, junior and senior.
The top three teams will receive prizes of 50,000, 30,000 and 20,000 rupees respectively. The best male/female players will be awarded 10,000 each. The three-day tournament, which will cost an estimated 2 million rupees, will be played at Khopatol.
It is said that the gold winner of each event will be provided with a full scholarship by Hriday Niketan in Bafal to study Plus Two. For that, President Siwakoti and Hriday Niketan Principal Karan Singh Goyal signed an agreement.
President Siwakoti informed that Legid Brothers will support Sitapaila Dojang players when they participate in international competitions in Australia.
