The Nepal Adventure Running Federation has honored athletes who have won medals in various national and international ultra/trail races. The athletes were honored during the federation's annual general meeting held at Hotel Royal Shingi on Monday.
The players to be honored are Arjun Kulung Rai, Sunsari Rokaya, Padam Kumari Sunuwar, Sunmaya Budha, Rammaya Budha, Mankumar Magar, Suman Kulung Rai, Gopal Tamang and Lakpa Nigma Sherpa.
On the same occasion, former Olympian Hari Bahadur Rokaya, who succeeded in writing his name in the Guinness Book of World Records through the Everest Marathon and is active in producing talented players, was also given a special honor. Himalayan Extra Pvt. Ltd. and Himalayan Running Club, Lalitpur were honored on behalf of the organization.
They were honored by National Sports Council (NSC) Member-Secretary Ramcharitra Mehta and Nepal Adventure Running Federation President Ekendra Kunwar.
The general assembly passed the annual report, said Rajan Khatri, senior vice president of the federation. It has been decided to organize various domestic competitions as well as participate in international competitions. President Kunwar said that the general assembly has passed a budget of Rs 11 million for the coming year.
