Maiwakhola Rural Municipality has won the title of the 16th President's Running Shield Inter-municipal Level Competition. With this, Maiwakhola has become the title winner for the second consecutive year.

In the competition held in Sablakhu Bhanjyang, the center of Sindingwa Rural Municipality, Maiwakhola won the first place by winning a total of 55 medals, including 23 gold, 20 silver and 12 bronze.

Aathraitriveni Rural Municipality came in second place by winning a total of 47 medals, including 13 gold, 13 silver and 21 bronze. Phungling Municipality came in third place by winning 42 medals, including 11 gold, 8 silver and 23 bronze.

Sindingwa Rural Municipality came in fourth place in the competition held in its own municipality. It won a total of 37 medals, including 9 gold, 12 silver and 16 bronze. Meringden Rural Municipality came in fifth place with 15 medals, including 4 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze.

Mikwakhola Rural Municipality came in sixth place by collecting 25 medals, including 3 gold, 5 silver and 17 bronze. Sirijanga Rural Municipality came in seventh place with 9 medals, including 2 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze. Pathibhara Yangwarak Rural Municipality won 5 medals, including 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze, and secured the eighth position.

In the competition in which nine local levels participated, Phaktanglung Rural Municipality came in last place without a medal, informed District Sports Development Committee Chairman Ganesh Mawo.

The competition, which began on Magh 23, saw the participation of secondary school level players from all municipalities in the district. A total of 234 medals were competed for in the competition.
