Italy loses to Scotland on debut

Scotland defeated debuting Italy by 73 runs on Monday in the Twenty20 World Cup 2026. Chasing 208 runs for victory, Italy were all out for 134 runs in 16.4 overs.

For Scotland, Michael Leask took four wickets for 17 runs. For Italy, Benc Benetti's 52 was the highest score. Before that, Scotland, who were invited to bat first, scored 207 runs for the loss of four wickets in the match played at Eden Gardens.
