Valley Public and Daffodil reached the semifinals of the second Gyan Sanskar Inter-School Basketball Tournament in the boys' category on Saturday.

In the competition organized by Gyan Sanskar School, Valley Public defeated Kingdom Himalaya by a score of 35-30. Valley's Ashok Bik scored 11. Daffodil defeated Paramount Academy by 41-37 with Kalsang Tamang's 18 points.

In the boys' category, SEB defeated Newton by 37-31. SEB's Ansh Shrestha scored 7 points. SEB will meet Valley Public in the semifinals, while Daffodil will play against the host JB School.

In the girls' category, Valley Public defeated TIA by 27-15, Bagmati defeated Canvas Basant Ritu by 25-21, Newton defeated Greenland by 20-17, and Ferryland School defeated Kathmandu Valley by 27-17 to book a place in the semifinals.

Valley Public's Sapana Giri scored 7, Bagmati's Reshmita Pakhrel scored 10, Newton's Erni Rana Magar scored 11 and  Karuna Bogati of Ferryland scored 12. The semifinals will be between Valley Public and Newton and Ferryland will face Bagmati.
