Hosts JB School and Bashundhara National Academy (BNA) have made a winning start in the junior boys' category of the second JB Inter-School Basketball Tournament.

On Friday, JB defeated Scholars Home 31-25 on home court. JB's Gaurav Oli scored 8 points. Bina Bista scored 6 as BNA defeated Triveni 32-20.

In the junior boys' division, Laligurans National Academy defeated Odyssey Academy 35-25 and Nature defeated Oasis Academy 18-15. Laligurans' Subash Shahi scored 10 points and Nature's Saroj Gurung scored 6 points.

In the senior girls' division, Eden Bridge Academy (EBA) defeated JB 27-25, Ferryland defeated BNA 36-25, Greenland defeated Arambha 34-20 and Belmont defeated Triveni 16-10. EBA's Menuka Magar scored 8, Ferriland's Sandipa Rai scored 13, Greenland's Diksha Pandey scored 16, and Belmont's Khushi Tamang scored 10.

The tournament was jointly inaugurated by former Minister Resham Lama, the chairman of the organizing school's governing body, Krishna Prasad Osti, and the chairman of the school's management committee, Ramila Ghalan. Twelve teams each are participating in the senior girls' and junior boys' divisions of the tournament, which will run until Magh 28.
