Small Haven School has won the title of the Hisan Cup cricket tournament held in Itahari, defeating Namuna College.
In the final of the tournament organized by the Higher Education and Secondary Schools Association (HISAN) Sunsari, Small Heaven of Inaruwa won the title by defeating Greenpeace Academy of Namuna College of Itahari by 9 wickets.
Namuna, who batted first after winning the toss at the Janata Cricket Ground, lost all their wickets in the stipulated 10 overs and scored a modest total of 48 runs. Apart from Aditya Bik who scored 29 runs, the other batsmen for Namuna could not perform well. Small Heaven's Amit Mehta took 4 wickets while Robin Mondal took 3 wickets.
In reply, Small Heaven, chasing a modest target of 49 runs, easily achieved the target by losing 1 wicket in 7.2 balls. Robin Mondal scored 32 runs not out and won the title for the team. He was also named the best batsman of the tournament.
He scored 153 runs and took 4 wickets in the ongoing competition. Amit Mehta of Small Haven, who was also the player of the final, became the west bowler. He took 11 wickets throughout the competition.
Hisan Sunsari President Sagar Bhattarai, Secretary Subhas Luintel, Competition Coordinator Ananta Subedi and CAN Sunsari President CP Poudel presented trophies to the winner and runner-up players. 8 colleges of Sunsari participated in the competition under the 12th sports meet of Hisan Sunsari.
