Bangladesh put up a strong performance against Bhutan, winning 12-0 in the first match of the SAFF U-19 Women's Championship 2026, which began on Saturday at the Pokhara Stadium.

In the first match of the group stage, Bangladesh played aggressive football from start to finish, putting Bhutan under full pressure. Looking at the overall flow of the game, Bhutan seemed limited to defense, while Bangladesh kept creating goal opportunities.

Bangladesh clearly dominated the ball control, pass coordination and wing use from the beginning of the game. They didn't have to wait long for the first goal. Mamoni Chakma scored in the 28th minute to give the team the lead.  Then Bangladesh's rhythm intensified.

In the 43rd minute, Shrimoti Trishna Rani added a goal. Exactly one minute later, Most Munki Akhtar extended the score in the 44th minute. Munki Akhtar again scored his second personal goal in the injury time of the first half, putting Bangladesh in a comfortable position. By the end of the first half, both the control and the score were in Bangladesh's hands.

Even after the start of the second half, the nature of the game did not change.  In the 54th minute, Trishna Rani increased her influence by scoring again.  In the 60th minute, she completed a hat-trick, which completely disrupted the Bhutanese defense.

In the 73rd minute, Alpi Akhtar added a goal, making the game completely one-sided.  The last 10 minutes became more like a celebration for Bangladesh.  In the 81st minute, Munki Akhtar completed a hat-trick.  In injury time (90+3), Munki Akhtar added a goal again, taking his personal goal tally to 4.

Arpita Biswas scored another goal in injury time.  Alpi Akhtar completed a hat-trick, pushing the score to double digits. The rain of goals continued in the second half as well, and Bhutan showed no signs of returning to the game.
