This year, Mani Kanda of Mavi Secondary School won the municipal-level President's Running Shield in Melauli.

Manilek Secondary School, Kanda, came first in the sixth municipal-level President's Running Shield competition with 11 gold, 10 silver and 3 bronze medals. 

Bishalpur Secondary School came second with 7 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze medals, and Bharatpur Secondary School, Gaunkot came third with 4 gold, zero silver and 1 bronze medal, informed Mayor Bhim Bahadur Chand.

Twelve schools within the municipality participated in the competition. Pancheshwor Rural Municipality Chairman Gorakh Bahadur Chand said that such sports programs conducted at the local level will help in producing good players within the municipality and also help in selecting them for the district-level President's Running Shield.
