Both Gandaki and Parbat have entered the finals after the last match of the group stage held on Friday at the volleyball court in Pokhara Stadium reached the fifth set in an exciting manner.
Gandaki, who won the first set 25-21, lost the second set 22-25. After regaining the lead in the third set 25-22, Gandaki had to give up the fourth set 23-25 to Parbat, and the match went to a decisive fifth set. Gandaki won 2 points in the fifth set with a hard-fought victory of 15-13 and Parbat got 1 point.
Gandaki reached the finals with 11 points and Parbat with 10 points from 5 games, respectively, finishing first and second. Nepal Police Club, which had the same 10 points, finished third in the points table, behind Parbat on the basis of sets. Tribhuvan Army Club is fourth in the points table, Armed Police Force APF is fifth and Maldives Volleyball Association is sixth.
The final match between Gandaki and Parbat will start at 2 pm on Saturday. Before that, the match for third place will be played between Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club at 11 am. The winner of the competition will get Rs 666,666, the runner-up Rs 366,666 and the third-placed team Rs 266,666.
Earlier, in the women's final held on Friday, New Diamond Sports Club defeated Nepal Police Club in straight sets 3-0 to win the title. New Diamond won the first set 25-11, the second set 25-22 and the third set 25-16.
