Bangladesh and the Netherlands have qualified for the Women's Twenty20 World Cup. The two teams secured their places in the World Cup by winning their respective Super Six matches in the ongoing Women's Twenty20 World Cup Global Qualifiers in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Top-ranked Bangladesh defeated Thailand by 39 runs and the Netherlands defeated the United States by 21 runs using the Duckworth-Lewis method. Bangladesh qualified for the Women's T20 World Cup for the seventh consecutive time and the Netherlands for the first time.

The victories of Bangladesh and the Netherlands ensured that these two teams will be in the top four in the global qualifiers. The top four teams in the Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers were scheduled to qualify for the World Cup to be held in England and Wales in June-July.

Bangladesh scored 165 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs at Upper Mulpani on the first day of the Super Six. Opener Juairia Ferdows scored 56 off 45 balls and Shobhana Mostry scored 59 off 42 balls to propel Bangladesh to a huge total. Thailand's Thipatcha Puthavong took 3 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs and Onicha Kamchomphu took 2 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs.

Opener Naththakan Chantham scored 46 runs off 41 balls, hitting 7 fours, but Thailand could only score 126 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
