PABSON Kathmandu is planning to organize the PABSON Cricket League (PCL U-15) for players under the age of 15.

The tournament will be held at the Lower Mulpani Ground from Magh 12 to Falgun 20, the organizer PABSON Kathmandu informed through a press conference on Tuesday. The tournament, which will be held in the Twenty20 format, will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis. Eight teams will compete in it. Teams from seven provinces and the organizing team will participate.

PABSON has stated that this will be a national-level inter-provincial school cricket tournament. The goal is to make school cricket systematic, transparent and competitive and take talented student players to national cricket through the provinces, so it will be organized every year in the calendar, informed the organizer PABSON Kathmandu President Nawaraj Bhatta. He said, ‘The goal is to make PCL a national school cricket league. It will be organized every year by including it in the annual calendar of CAN.’

The winning team of the tournament will receive a prize of Rs 150,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 75,000. The Man of the Match of each match will receive Rs 2,500, the best batsman and bowler will receive Rs 5,000 each, and the best player will receive Rs 10,000, said tournament coordinator Dhan Bahadur Pun. The estimated budget of the tournament is Rs 8 million.

It is said that it will be conducted by licensed umpires of the Nepal Cricket Association. The league will be run by the Kathmandu District Cricket Association.
