The third tournament under this season's Surya Nepal Golf Tour, the Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship, will be held from Tuesday at the newly constructed Mithila Nagri Army Golf Club in Bardibas.

This is the first time that the Surya Nepal Golf Tour is being held in Madhesh Province. For the first time, pro golfers are competing in this newly built golf club. This will give them the challenge of playing on a new golf course.

The winner of the competition, which has a total prize money of Rs 1 million 50 thousand, will receive Rs 1 lakh 70 thousand. The second and third place players will receive Rs 1 lakh 25 thousand and Rs 1 lakh respectively. Players in the top 18 positions will be entitled to the prize.

Nepal's number one pro golfer and Surya Nepal Eastern Open winner Neeraj Tamang will be the main contender.

Bhuwan Nagarkoti, Dhan Thapa, Dinesh Prajapati and Jayaram Shrestha are on the list of contenders. The three-day tournament will consist of 54 holes. 31 professional golfers and 6 amateur golfers with a handicap of 5 or less will participate in it. The cut will be implemented after the completion of 36 holes. The top 18 pro and amateur golfers will advance to the final round, according to the organizer Nepal Professional Golfers Association.

There will be a total of 8 tournaments under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2025-26. Earlier, the first tournament, the Surya Nepal Central Open, was won by amateur player Rahul Bishwakarma and the second tournament, the Surya Nepal Eastern Open, was won by Neeraj Tamang.
