Anshu Barma Secondary School Nisdi-2, Sahalkot has come first in the seventh President's Running Shield competition at Nisdi Rural Municipality level.
In the competition held at the Nisdi Jhyaltung playground, Anshu Barma came first with 5 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals. Gaurishankar Secondary School Nisdi-4 came second, Mityal won 4 gold, 1 silver and 8 bronze medals.
Nisdi-5, Galdha-based Janata Secondary School came third with 3 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, said Education Branch Chief Nar Bahadur Thapa. Competition was held in 9/9 subjects for boys and girls.
12 secondary schools of Nisdi Rural Municipality participated in the competition. Nisdi Rural Municipality Chairman Mukt Bahadur Saru, Vice Chairman Tiran Kumari Shrestha, Chief Administrative Officer Purna Bahadur Chitaure and others distributed shields, medals, trophies and certificates to the winning students in the competition.
Rural Municipality Chairman Saru said that people in Nisdi can contribute to their villages and the nation through sports. ‘Sports teach them to be disciplined and work together,’ he said. On the same occasion, Subechha Soti of Jeevan Jyoti Basic School came first in the rural municipality's basic level essay writing competition organized by the child-friendly branch.
Tirsana Gaha of Janapriya Secondary School Jyamire came second and Khushi Darlami of Sindur Basic School Archale came third, said branch chief Kusmakhar Pandey.
