An agreement has been reached between the Dhangadhi-based Sudurpaschimanchal Academy (SPA) and the Sudurpaschim Provincial Cricket Team to be the main sponsor for three years.
SPA Managing Director Subash Shahi said that it has become the main sponsor for the development of cricket in the Far West as part of its social responsibility. 'Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen the development, promotion, management and player production programs of cricket in the Far West Province.'
Managing Director Shahi said, 'We are confident that this collaboration with the Far West Provincial Cricket Association will achieve significant achievements in further strengthening the future of Nepali cricket.'
Provincial Cricket Association President Vasudev Joshi said that the agreement will give talented players from the Far West an opportunity to showcase their talents and inspire players from the province to perform well in national competitions. 'SPA will provide the necessary financial support for three years to conduct various provincial-level cricket activities, which has helped make this province cricket-rich.'
Association President Joshi said, 'In the coming days, we will also focus on producing new players along with grassroots cricket activities.'
According to the agreement, male and female athletes representing the Far Western Province and playing in national competitions will be able to study at SPA College with 100 percent scholarship.
Similarly, athletes representing the districts of the province and playing in regional competitions will receive 50 percent scholarship facilities.
