Tribhuvan Army Club has been eliminated from the finals of the women's category of the ongoing Ncell 6th Tiger Cup National and International Invitational Club Volleyball Championship in Pokhara.
Army has been eliminated from the title race after suffering its third consecutive defeat. In the match held on Monday morning at the volleyball court at Pokhara Stadium, Army lost to the Armed Police Force (APF) in straight sets of 3-0.
APF put pressure on the team from the beginning and won the first set 25-11, the second set 25-18 and the third set 25-19.
Earlier, Army lost to New Diamond Sports Club in the first match and Nepal Police Club in the second match. Army will play its last match on Tuesday against Thailand Queens.
APF, on the other hand, has registered its second win in the championship. APF defeated Thailand Queens in the first match in a match that lasted until the fifth set, and lost to New Diamond in the second match.
The tournament, organized by Tiger Group of Pokhara Nepal, will be held till 17th Magh. Six teams in the men's and five teams in the women's categories are participating. There is a provision for the top two teams to advance to the finals on the basis of a single round robin.
