Zimbabwe, who were invited to bat after losing the toss, scored 129 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs at the Tribhuvan University Cricket International Stadium, Kirtipur. Vice-captain Pooja Mahato scored an unbeaten half-century to take Nepal to 133 runs with 3 balls to spare. Pooja scored 52 runs in 50 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.
Nepal's victory keeps alive its slim hopes of reaching the Super Six. Nepal, which is playing in the T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers for the first time, has achieved its first win. Nepal had defeated Thailand by 8 wickets and the Netherlands by 2 runs in the first two matches.
Zimbabwe's uncontrolled bowling also helped Nepal win. Nepal got 20 runs in the extra over, in which Zimbabwean bowlers gave away 19 wides.

Modester Mupachikwa scored 14 off 26 balls. Lorin Suma failed to open the account while Josephine Nkomo and Chiidja Dhururu were dismissed for 6 and 4 respectively. Riya Sharma took 2 wickets for Nepal. She gave away 25 runs in 4 overs. Kavita Kunwar, Sita Rana Magar, Rubina Chhetri and Pooja Mahato took 1 wicket each.
Zimbabwe lost all four matches in the group stage. Zimbabwe lost to the Netherlands, Thailand and Scotland in this tournament.
