Bhupendra Gurung, an international medalist in Uma Kung Fu, has been honored by the New York State Assembly.

Bhupendra has stated that he was honored for his achievements in the field of sports. Member of Assembly Steven B. Raga presented Bhupendra with the honor.

Bhupendra, a gold medalist in the National Uma Kung Fu Championship, has won 13 gold and 2 silver medals in 7 international competitions held in the US, UK and Germany.

Bhupendra, who is also the vice-president of the Nepal Uma Kung Fu Association, has also served as an international judge in various national and international competitions.

‘I feel extremely honored to receive this honor from the New York Rajya Sabha in recognition of my service and contribution to the Nepali community through sports. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable New York Rajya Sabha Member Steven Raga for this honor.’ Bhupendra said after being honored.
