Army's Arjun Budha and APF Club's Fulmati Rana have won the title in the 10th Jhiltung Cross Country Race. Arjun emerged victorious in the men's 13.4-kilometer open event held in Jhiltung, Nuwakot on Saturday.

Arjun completed the prescribed distance in 51 minutes 57.8 seconds. Ramesh Limbu of Taplejung (54 minutes 25.2 seconds) came second and Thakendra Sharma of Rukum (56 minutes 23.7 seconds) came third. Phulmati took 1 hour 8 minutes 5 seconds to cover the prescribed distance. Rajya Lakshmi Rawal of Army (1 hour 21 minutes 8 seconds) came second and Sushila Mahat of APF (1 hour 40 minutes 5 seconds) came third.

Ashish Tamang came first, Gulsan Rokamagar came second and Manish Tamang came third in the local junior U-16 boys 4.5 km competition organized by Belkotgadhi Municipality, Nuwakot. In the same distance, Silsila Kunwar won gold, Sakina Tamang won silver and Raiska Subedi won bronze.

Local veteran 45 years and above 4.5 km Chandraman Shrestha Shrestha came first, Mithu Nepal came second and Rajendra Prasad Nepal came third . In the mothers' group, Sanita Shrestha came first, Bimala Shrestha came second and Bhavani Lamichhane came third . In the veteran open men's 13.4 km, Dharma Maharjan won gold, Rebat Bahadur Dahal won silver and Ram Chandra Shrestha won bronze .

In the junior U-18 boys' 4.5 km, Badal Karki came first, Sushant Lamichhane came second and Praveen Karki came third . In the girls' group, Pranisha Karki came first, Sharmila Gole came second and Ayushma Acharya came third .

Local men's 13.4 km distance, Bimal Thapa Magar came first, Ammar Shrestha came second and Suman Shrestha came third .

The winners were awarded by outgoing MP Bimala Subedi, Mayor of Belkotgadhi Municipality Jagat Bahadur Gurung, Deputy Mayor Shiva Dahal, Chairman of Belkotgadhi Municipality Ward 5 Madan Bhujel, race creator Mohan Nepal, Chairman and Race Director of Athletics Parivar Nepal Rajan Khatri, and others. The total prize money of the competition was Rs 364,000.

The race for all distances started from Kolputar in Belkotgadhi Municipality and ended in Kolputar after going around various parts. 300 competitors participated in the race organized by Belkotgadhi Municipality Ward 5 and with the technical support of Athletics Parivar Nepal.
