The fifth KVKSS Girls Inter-School Basketball Tournament, organized by Kathmandu Vidyakunj Secondary School (KVKSS), is set to begin on Sunday.

KVKSS Principal Nitya Shrestha informed at a press conference on Friday that 16 teams, including 3 from the organizers, will participate in the competition. The participating teams will be divided into 4 groups and the matches will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis.

KVKSS basketball coach Dipesh Karki informed that students studying up to class 9 will be able to participate. Group ‘A’ includes KVKSS ‘A’, Tejaswi Academy, Paramount Academy and Bashundhara National Academy (BNA) and Group ‘B’ includes Valley Public, Landmark Academy, Greenland and Himshila.

Kathmandu Euro, Eden Bridge Academy (EBA), KVKSS ‘C’ and JB School are in Group ‘C’ and KVKSS ‘B’, Rai School, Gyanodaya and White Haven are in Group ‘D’.

According to the organizers, about Rs 200,000 will be spent to run the competition. The matches of the competition, which will last until Magh 17, will be played on the organizer’s court.
