Dhankuta has reached the final of the 47th edition of the Hangthum Cup football tournament being held in Mulkharka, Sankhuwasabha.

In the first semi-final match held on Friday, GCC Dhankuta entered the final by defeating Koshi Province Police team 2-0.

Ritesh Limbu and Sandeep Limbu became the heroes in GCC Dhankuta's victory. Ritesh Limbu scored the first goal with a powerful shot in the 64th minute of the game, giving Dhankuta the lead. Then, in the 70th minute, Sandeep Limbu scored a beautiful goal to ensure the team's victory.

The tournament, which features 8 teams from Nepal and India, is progressing competitively amid the enthusiastic support of the audience.

According to the chairman of the organizing committee, Asim Jimi, the winning team of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs. 242,000, while the runner-up team will receive a prize of Rs. 121,000.

The much-awaited final match of the Hangthum Cup will be held on Magh 10 at Madi Municipality-3 Mulkharka, according to the organizers.
