Nepal, looking for their first win, will face the Netherlands on Thursday in the ICC Women's Twenty20 World Cup Global Qualifiers. Nepal had four days to prepare for the match against the Netherlands after losing to Thailand in the first match on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands is playing its third consecutive match in a span of 5 days. After winning the first two matches, the Netherlands has already advanced to the Super Six. If the Netherlands wins the match against Nepal to be held at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur on Thursday morning, its journey to the next stage will be assured.

The Netherlands is ranked 14th and Nepal is ranked 21st in the Women's World Twenty20 International rankings. Despite playing the ODI World Cup four times, the Netherlands women's team is in the running to play the T20 World Cup for the first time. This is the Netherlands' third participation in the T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers, which were recognized as ODI women's internationals in May 2022.

Nepal is competing in the Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers for the first time. Nepal, which started well by scoring 54 runs in the first power play in its first match against Thailand, was eventually reduced to 122 runs. Nepal also faced a similar situation in the second practice match against the United States.

Nepal's middle order has been collapsing after Samjhana Khadka and Bindu Rawal gave a great start. This is the main problem in Nepal's batting. This middle order consists of captain Indu Burma, vice-captain Pooja Mahato, Rubina Chhetri, and Kavita Joshi. Sita Rana Magar, who used to play in the opening position in the past, has now dropped to the lower order.

After the match against Thailand, captain Indu has said that Pooja and Rubina will have to play with him responsibly. Pooja was out for 12 runs in 17 balls and Indu for 6 runs, while Kavita scored only 3 runs. Former captain Rubina scored 17 runs in 10 balls, including 2 sixes and 1 four.

Nepal has not been able to improve its bowling either. Suman Bista and Kavita Kunwar troubled Thailand in the beginning, but they were able to take wickets. Riya Sharma bowled well. But veteran player Sita took both the wickets. Nepal will also have to perform a miracle in bowling to achieve its first victory over the Netherlands.

Last year, Nepal played three matches against the Netherlands at home in the triangular series including Thailand. They were defeated in all of them. In the first match, Nepal scored 145 runs, while the Netherlands scored 151 runs without loss with two balls to spare. In the next two matches, Nepal was defeated by 15 and 20 runs respectively. Even with these last two narrow losses, Nepal has a chance of defeating the Netherlands.

However, the Netherlands has made a great start this time. After defeating Zimbabwe by 22 runs in the first match, the Netherlands won the second match by 7 runs against Scotland on Tuesday. Against Scotland, Sterne Kallis scored an unbeaten 87 runs in 60 balls. The same Kallis, 26, scored an unbeaten 98 off 69 balls as the team won by 10 wickets against Nepal last year.
