The second Ferryland Inter-School Basketball Tournament, organized by Ferryland School, is set to begin on Sunday.

Ferriland Principal Bishnu Chandra Adhikari informed the press conference on Thursday that 12 teams each will participate in the competition in Junior Boys and Junior Girls. The teams participating in both groups will be divided into 4 groups and will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis.

Junior Boys Group ‘A’ includes Newton, Gyanbhoomi and Golden Peak and Group ‘B’ includes Gyan Sanskar, Angels Heart and Bashundhara National Academy (BNA). JB School, Greenland and Bhakti are in Group ‘C’ and Ferriland, BMCA and Himshila are in Group ‘D’.

Senior Girls Group ‘A’ includes Ferriland ‘A’, St. Joseph and Valley Public and Group ‘B’ includes Newton, BNA and Manjari. Loyalty Academy, Bhakti Group and JB School are in Group ‘C’ and Ferriland ‘B’, NCCS and Himshila are in Group ‘D’.

The cost of organizing the tournament will be around Rs 300,000, said Binod Adhikari, director of Ferryland. Kingdom Himalayan is the defending champion in the junior boys' category and Ferryland 'A' in the junior girls' category.

According to Ferryland basketball coach Narayan Khawas, Kingdom Himalayan is not participating this time. The games of the tournament, which will run until Magh 16, will be played on the organizer's court.
