India's Dudhe Football Club Darjeeling has secured a place in the semi-finals of the Hangthum Cup by defeating host Hangthum Club 2-1.
In the competitive match held on Thursday, Hangthum's Paras Jimmy scored a goal in the 45th minute to give the home team the lead. But in the second half, Dudhe Football Club Darjeeling made a great comeback in the game.
In the 57th minute of the game, Sudesh Rai scored an equalizer to bring the game to 1-1. After that, Dudhe became more aggressive. In the 73rd minute, Pasang Tamang scored the decisive goal to secure Dudhe's journey to the semi-finals.
In the competition, 8 teams from Nepal and India are participating in the tournament: Indreni Club of Sankhuwasabha, Koshi Province Police, DYC Dhankuta, Likhubhuji Ramechhap, Indreni Club Barahachhetra Sunsari, Myanglung Sporting Club Tehrathum, Dudhe Football Club Darjeeling of India and the host Hangthum Club.
According to the chairman of the organizing committee, Asim Jimi, the winning team of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs 242,000, while the runner-up team will receive a prize of Rs 121,000.
The final match of the Hangthum Cup will be held on Magh 10 at Mulkharka, Madi Municipality-3, according to the organizers.
