The Prabhuram Rai Men's Football Tournament has begun. The tournament began on Wednesday at the Yalambar Stadium in Buipa, Khotang.

In the inaugural match of the tournament, the host Buipa-11 Sports Club has started the tournament with a 4-0 victory over Ainselukharka Rural Municipality. Similarly, the first match on Magh 22 will be between Kharambu Sports Club Kharmi and Khotang Football Academy KFA, the second match will be between Nerpa Sports Club and Sirjana Youth Club Dharan, and the third match will be between Ranbhim Gana Mudhe and Gachhiya Youth Club Morang, according to the organizers. Pawin Rai, jersey number 11 of Buipa-11 Sports Club, has been declared the man of the match of the inaugural match. Ten teams have participated in the match.
The winner of the match will receive Rs 300,000 in cash, a trophy, a medal and a certificate, while the runner-up will receive Rs 151,000 in cash, a trophy, a medal and a certificate, and the two semi-finalist teams will receive Rs 50,000 each, according to District Football Association Khotang Treasurer Roshan Rai.
Under the category awards, the best player will receive a medal and certificate along with Rs 30,000. The best coach of the game, best goalkeeper, best midfielder, best defender, and best striker will each receive a medal and certificate along with Rs 15,000. Rai said that the man of the match will receive a medal and certificate along with Rs 2,500.
