Golfer Rahul Vishwakarma has won the D&D Amateur Golf Championship.

Rahul shot a 4-under 66 in the second and final round to finish at 2-under 138.

Rahul won the title by beating Prakrit Tamang and Sundar Rai by 9 strokes. Rahul won a prize of Rs 50,000. This is the first time a Nepali amateur golfer has won a cash prize in any competition.

Prakrit and Sundar scored a combined 7-over 147. Prakrit finished second on the countback. Prakrit shot 3-under 67 on Monday. He received 30,000. Sundar, who came third, shot 4-over 74. He received 24,000.

Ram Tamang finished fourth on Monday with a 3-over 73 and a total of 8-over 148. He received 20,000. Rajesh Rai finished fifth with a 4-over 74 and a score of 149. He received 16,000.

Suman Bhujel (73), Gajendra Limbu (77) and Padam Hang Limbu (75) scored 151 points each. Suman finished sixth, Gajendra seventh and Padam eighth in the count back. They received 14,000, 13,000 and 12,000 respectively.

Dipendra Rai (74) and Deukumar Rai (76) finished ninth and tenth in the count back with 152 points each over 12. They received 11,000 and 10,000 respectively.

38 players participated in the 36-hole tournament sponsored by Dharan-based golfers Deukumar Rai and Dipendra Rai. This is the first tournament to have cash prizes in amateur golf. The total prize money was 200,000.
