Rahul, who shot 2-over 72 on the first day of the tournament at Dharan Golf Club, beat Sundar Rai by 1 stroke. Sundar Rai, who shot 3-over 73, is in second place. Padmahang Limbu, Ram Tamang, Rajesh Rai and Bharat Tamang shared third place with a score of 5-over 75.
Deukumar Rai and Jeevan Rai, who finished the first day with 6-over 76, were in joint seventh place. Buddhiman Sunuwar and Gajendra Limbu, who scored 7-over 77, finished the first 18 holes in joint ninth place.
Rahul, a member of the national team, played the front nine in 2-over 38. Starting the day with a bogey, he also missed shots on the fourth and seventh holes. He hit a birdie on the third hole. For the first time, a cash prize competition has been started for amateur Nepali golfers. The prize money is 200,000 rupees.
The winner of the competition will receive 50,000 rupees and the runner-up will receive 30,000 rupees.
