Prof. Shukra Bahadur Rai's team has won the Pro-Am title of the Surya Nepal Eastern Open. The team, which included Shukra, amateurs Som Gurung, Purna Limbu and Awas Bhattarai, won the title by scoring a total of 158 points at the par-70 Dharan Golf Club on Saturday. Former Nepal number one Pro Shukra scored 37 points. He beat Sanjay Lama in the countback. In the amateur category, Som scored 42 points, Purna scored 40 and Awas scored 39 points.

The team comprising Pro Sanjay Lama, Amateur Lokendra Rai, Divas Tuladhar and Man Bahadur Limbu came second with 150 points. Sanjay and Man Bahadur scored 37 points, while Lokendra and Divas scored 38 points.

The team of Pro Balbhadra Rai and Amateur Nakul Bahadur Rayamajhi, Siddhant Sapkota and Basanta Rai came third with 146 points. Local veteran Balbhadra and Amateur Basanta scored 36 points, while Nakul and Siddhant scored 37/37 points.

Bina Sapkota won the best score award for women with 30 points. Major Nakul Bahadur Rayamajhi won the Longest Drive title and Ujjwal Rai won the Closest to the Pin title. A total of 70 golfers, including Pro 15 and Amateur 55, participated in the competition, which was played in the Stableford full handicap format. The winners were awarded by Nepal Golf Association Vice President Tilak Rai and Koshi Province Golf Association President Suyash Pyakurel.

Earlier, the Surya Nepal Eastern Open held on Friday was won by Nepal number one Pro Neeraj Tamang. Amateur Rahul Bishwakarma came second and Balabhadra Rai came third.
