Friends Club got off to a comfortable start in the National League on Wednesday, defeating Kankre Bihar Club 3-1 in the opening match of the tournament at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

Kankrebihar took an unexpected lead in the sixth minute with the help of an own goal by Kamal Shrestha, but could not maintain it. Friends returned to the game in the second minute of injury time of the first half with a goal by Prashant Laxam.
