The 'Cricket for Housing' campaign has been launched in Karjanha Municipality of Siraha. The campaign was launched on Wednesday during a program at Phulkumari Mahato Secondary School in Bandipur.
This campaign, which was launched by Sabal Nepal and WHH in coordination with Karjanha Municipality, was inaugurated by Nepal Cricket Association Secretary Paras Khadka while batting.
Under this campaign, girl students will be played cricket every Saturday in various schools in the city. Deepak Jha, Executive Director of Sabal Nepal, informed that the aim of cricket is to spread the message of cleanliness and hygiene in the society.
Although Sabal Nepal and WHH are currently investing in this campaign, the municipality will also support it to continue, informed Mayor Bhola Prasad Pokharel.
Deputy Mayor Laxmi Kumari Shrestha expressed her belief that this campaign will help bring women who are still suppressed in the society to the fore and spread awareness about hygiene in the society.
Although it has been started only in Karjanha Municipality for now, the organization has stated that it will gradually expand this campaign.
