A Ward Chairman Taekwondo Competition is being held with the support of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 8 and organized by Pingla Taekwondo Dojang.
In the competition to be held on Magh 30, 210 players will compete in 13 different events, said Ward 8 Coordinator Ashaman Sangat at a press conference on Tuesday.
Gyorogi Junior Men will compete in 45 kg, 48 kg and under 51 kg and women in 42 kg and under 46 kg and senior men in 54 kg, 58 kg, 63 kg and under 68 kg and women in 46 kg, 49 kg, 53 kg and under 57 kg weight groups, said Surendra Dangol, Co-Coordinator and Organizing Dojang President.
The top three players in each event will receive 4,000, 3,000 and 2,000 prizes respectively. According to the organizers, the estimated budget of the competition, which will be held in accordance with the rules of the World Taekwondo Federation and Nepal Taekwondo Association, is 587,000 rupees. The one-day competition will be played at the Golden Durbar Banquet in Jayabageshwori.
