Sekaha Community Club has entered the final of the Tinpokhari Cup football tournament. In a thrilling semi-final match held at Khandbari Stadium on Tuesday, Sekaha came close to the title by defeating Sheetalpati Football Club of Sankhuwasabha 1-0 in sudden death.
Despite playing aggressively for the stipulated time, both teams failed to score. After the match ended in a draw and both teams failed to score in the penalty shootout, the result was decided by sudden death. Sekaha secured its ticket to the final by scoring the decisive goal in the sudden death.
Now, Sekaha Community Club will compete for the title with Makalu Friends Club of Sankhuwasabha on Magh 1 for the title.
The tournament, which saw the participation of eight teams from eastern Nepal including Sankhuwasabha, saw a significant attendance of spectators. The winning team of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 251,000 and the runner-up will receive a prize of Rs 121,000, according to the organizer, Tinpokhari Club.
