Nepal is set to play practice matches in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Mumbai, India, as part of preparations for the Twenty20 World Cup next month.

According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), Nepal will play three matches against Sri Lanka 'A' in Colombo.

Nepal will play a three-match series on January 20 at SLLDC and on January 22 and 24 at Colts. Nepal will play two more matches in Mumbai in preparation for the second phase, CAN said on Tuesday. In that sequence, Nepal will play two matches against Mumbai Cricket Association President's XI on January 29 and 31. Although the second match is said to be a day-night match, the venue has not been specified.

Nepal has already announced a 15-member World Cup squad under the captaincy of Rohit Poudel. Nepal is playing its third Twenty20 World Cup. Nepal previously played the Twenty20 World Cup in 2014 and 2024.

Nepal is scheduled to play England on February 8, Italy on February 12, West Indies on February 15 and Bangladesh on February 17 in the group stage. Nepal will play all the group stage matches at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
