The host KMC School has made a winning start in the senior girls' division of the 5th KMC Inter-School Basketball Tournament.

On home court, KMC defeated Golden Flower by a score of 32-18. KMC's Aakrisha Ghimire scored 20 points.

In girls, Chelsea defeated Baldiksha Sadan 43-20 and Manank Children by a score of 37-20. In separate matches, Chelsea's Lazen Sherpa scored 18 and Chelsea's Paramba Pant scored 12.

In senior boys, Baldiksha defeated hosts KMC 'A' 36-19 and Milestone defeated Nepal Central by 27-20. Baldiksha's Sayal Maharjan scored 19 and Milestone's Bipin Oli scored 11 points.

In junior boys, Eden Bridge Academy (EBA) defeated Himali 27-16, Greenfield defeated Manank 20-12, Green Lawns defeated Whitefield 31-16 and Sunshine defeated Nepal Central 22-10. Digvijay Puri of EBA scored 9, Kismat Dhakal of Greenfield scored 10, Ujjwal Pokhrel of Green Lawns scored 14 and Manik Bhandari of Sunshine scored 17.

The tournament was inaugurated by former basketball player Maya Syangtan and KMC Executive Director Dr. Dhruv Bhattarai. The tournament, which will run until Magh 3, has 12 teams competing in senior boys and junior boys and 8 teams in senior girls.
