APF Pakali and host Tinpokhari Club, considered strong, have been eliminated in the first round of the third Tinpokhari Cup football tournament that began on Saturday at Khandbari Stadium.
Shitalpati Football Club of Sankhuwasabha has entered the second round by defeating APF Pakali.
Shitalpati put the game in their favor with an impressive performance in the second half of the match. Subash Tamang scored in the 5th minute of the second half to give them the lead, while Mahendra Limbu added a second goal in the 9th minute from a corner kick.
In another match on Saturday, the journey of the host Tinpokhari Club also ended in the first round.
They were defeated by Makalu Friends Club by a margin of 2-0 goals. Roshan Acharya of Makalu Friends scored in the 13th minute to give the team the lead, while Jeevan Maskemgar added a goal in the 27th minute to ensure victory.

The competition includes Chulachuli Sporting Club (Jhapa), Belka Youth Club (Udaipur), APF Pakali (Sunsari), Khandbari Youth Club, Advance Club, Makalu Friends Club, Shittalpati Youth Club and the host Tinpokhari Club.
The winning team of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs 251,000 and the runner-up team will receive a prize of Rs 121,000. The final match of the competition will be held on Magh 1.
