New Diamond won the title by defeating their close rival Nepal Police Club 3-1 in the final on Saturday. New Diamond became the champion for the second time. The team had previously won the seventh edition.
In the final held at the Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, the defending champion Police lost the set 25-22, 25-18, 15-25, 27-25. New Diamond, who were on the verge of victory after winning two consecutive sets, could not maintain their rhythm in the third set. Police stopped Diamond at 15 points and made a comeback. In the fourth set, Police had already widened their lead when New Diamond returned to the game. After opposing hitters Pratibha Mali, Salina Budhamagar and middle blocker Sumitra Regmi scored consecutive points, New Diamond faced tough competition and won the game.
New Diamond had also won the title by defeating Police in the final of the NVA Club Championship held a week ago. New Diamond remained undefeated in both competitions while becoming champions.
New Diamond was seen in a strong position with the arrival of senior player Pratibha Mali, who returned from Australia. Pratibha scored the most points with 25 in the final, while she added 19 points from Spike. Sumitra scored 15 and Salina scored 14 points. For Police, Poonam Chand scored the most points with 21, Usha Bhandari scored 20 and Rima Kunwar scored 8 points. Poonam scored 20 and Usha scored 17 points from Spike. New Diamond's Pragati Nath was declared the player of the match in the final. 
In the league stage, the winners New Diamond defeated Tribhuvan Army 3-0, APF 3-2 and Police 3-2 sets. In the competition organized by Sher Bahadur Khadka Memorial Foundation under the main sponsorship of multinational paints company KNP Nerolac, the title winner of the first six editions, APF Club finished in third place. On Saturday, APF defeated Army in straight sets of 25-13, 25-23, 25-18. APF's Meena Sunar was named Player of the Match.
The winner received Rs 500,000, the runner-up Rs 250,000 and the third-placed team Rs 125,000.
Pratibha Mali of New Diamond was adjudged the best. Pratibha won the trophy along with Rs 50,000.
APF's Meena Sunar was adjudged the best supplier, New Diamond's Sumitra Regmi was awarded the best blocker, Pragati Nath was adjudged the best setter, Police's Shantikala Tamang was adjudged the best libero, Police's Poonam Chand was adjudged the best server and New Diamond's Kumar Rai was adjudged the best coach. The best all received a prize of 25 thousand rupees. Hotel Barahi and Sarangkot Mountain Lodge provided a gift hamper. The player of the match of each game was awarded 15 thousand rupees.
