Rupandehi-11 won the second match against Nepal Army on Friday as part of the one-day series of the 'Pawan Kumar Sethia Memorial Cricket Tournament' being organized by the Rupandehi Cricket Association.
Rupandehi also won the first match of the series. Rupandehi defeated Army Club 'A' by 49 runs to clinch the three-match series. Rupandehi won the first match on Wednesday by 87 runs.
Rupandehi had also won the two-day Test that was held earlier. Rupandehi, who lost the toss on Friday and were invited to bat, scored 152 runs in 26 overs and 5 balls in the match that was shortened to 28 overs due to weather.
Sandeep Rajali scored 11, Vishal Bhusal 28, Nischal Gyawali 17, Mirnal Gurung and Amar Mishra scored 13 runs each, Krishna Karki 12 and Biprasan KC 10 runs.
In the bowling, Army's Pawan Karki took 4, Anish Dhami 3 and Ghanshyam Pandey, Paras Singh Dhami and Prem Gurung took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Army was all out in 25 overs and scored only 103 runs. Rupandehi's Krishna Karki took 4 wickets, Vishal Bhusal took 3 wickets, Viprasan KC took 2 wickets and Sagar Gaire took 1 wicket to bowl the Army out cheaply.
Army's Nirmal Shahi scored 51 wickets, Laxman Pariyar scored 16 wickets and Pradeep Pella scored 15 wickets. Five Army players were out for naught. Rupandehi's Krishna Karki was named player of the match and received Rs 2,000.
For the first time in the country, two teams are competing in three formats. Bhairahawa-based businessmen Harish and Sunil Sethia have sponsored the tournament in memory of their father, the late Pawan Kumar.
