The third edition of the Three Pools Cup Football Tournament is set to be held in Khandbari from December 11.
The organizer Tinpokhari Club organized a press conference in Khandbari on Tuesday and informed that the tournament is going to be organized at Khandbari Stadium. Eight football teams from eastern Nepal including the district will participate in the tournament.
Chulaculi Sporting Club Jhapa, Belka Youth Club Udayapur, APF Pakali Sunsari and teams from Sankhuwasabha will compete in the tournament. Similarly, the organizers have stated that Khandbari Youth Club, Advance Club, Makalu Friends Club, Sheetalpati Youth and the organizer Tinpokhari Club will also participate in the tournament.
Speaking at the press conference, the president of the organizing club, Minesh Chapagain, expressed his belief that the tournament will make a significant contribution to the development of football at the local level and the development of the talent of the players. According to him, all preparations for the tournament have reached the final stage.
The winning team of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs 251,000 and the runner-up team will receive a prize of Rs 121,000. The final match of the competition will be held on Magh 1, informed Chairman Chapagain. The Tinpokhari Cup is expected to make sports activities more active in Sankhuwasabha, including Khandbari.
