The first Lalbandi Mayor Gold Cup Competition 2082 is set to begin in Lalbandi, Sarlahi. The organizers have announced that the Gold Cup will be held in Nawalpur from Magh 16.
The organizers have stated that 12 teams, including 8 from Madhesh Province, 2 from Bagmati Province and 2 from Koshi Province, will participate in the competition to be held at the Nawalpur Football Stadium in Lalbandi Municipality-1, Nawalpur.
At a press conference organized at the sports ground on Wednesday, the chairman of the organizer, Jeeveshwor Youth Club, Dip Bahadur Budhathoki, informed that 8 teams from Madhesh Province, Gaighat Youth Club, Udayapur, Inaruwa Football Club, Sunsari, Bharatpur Football Club, Chitwan and Makawanpur District Football Association, Hetauda, will participate.
The winning team of the competition will be awarded a trophy and certificate along with a cash prize of Rs 300,000 and the runner-up will be awarded a trophy and certificate along with a cash prize of Rs 150,000. The Jeeveshwor Youth Club has stated that the competition is being organized for the production and promotion of players from the district. For the competition to be held at a cost of more than Rs 2.4 million, Lalbandi Municipality has allocated Rs 700,000 and Ward No. Chairman Budhathoki said that Nawalpur has contributed 5 lakhs.
