The Kho Kho men's and women's teams were declared 'Team of the Year' at the NSJF Pulsar Sports Awards 081 on Wednesday.

The first award of the program that started at Pokhara Hall went to the men's and women's Kho Kho teams. In the first Kho Kho World Cup held in New Delhi, India, both the men's and women's teams won silver medals and became runners-up. Kho Kho was the first Nepali team to become runners-up in any team game. The women's team defeated Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Germany in the group stage of that World Cup. Then, they defeated Iran in the quarterfinals and Uganda in the semifinals. The men's team defeated Peru, Brazil and Bhutan in the group stage. Similarly, they defeated Bangladesh in the quarterfinals and Iran in the semifinals. Both teams were defeated by India in the final.
