Amrit Public Secondary School, Peepaldanda, has come first for the seventh time in the seventh President's Running Shield competition at the Rambha Rural Municipality in Palpa. Amrit Public has been coming first in the rural municipality-level running shield competition every year in the past.
Amrit Public has won 21 medals in the competition, including 12 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze. Last year and this year, a shield has been arranged. Earlier, there was no shield in Rambha. There was an arrangement to carry the trophy. Despite winning for seven years, Amrit Public's sports teacher Avit Saru said that he was able to bring it for the second time because he purchased the shield last year.
Krishna Secondary School in Jheskang, Peepaldanda, came second by winning 8 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze, informed Education Branch Chief Meenadevi Acharya. Janakalyan Secondary School in Hungi came third by winning 5 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze.
Rabikiran Secondary School in Peepaldanda won 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze under the competition. Rambha Secondary School Tahu won 1 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals, while Sanahungi Secondary School Phoksigkot won 1 gold, 2 silver, and 6 bronze medals. Kaligandaki Gurukulam Hungi Aserdi, which teaches Sanskrit, won 1 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal. Krishna Gandaki Secondary School Hungi Aserdi won 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals. Janhit Bhagwati Secondary School of Humin, however, failed to win a medal.
The competition was organized by Rabha Rural Municipality in coordination with Krishna Gandaki Secondary School Aserdi at the Aserdi playground this year. The students and school who received medals were presented with shields, medals, and prizes by Rural Municipality Chairman Bishna Prasad Bhandari, Chief Administrative Officer Bir Bahadur Pun, Ward Chairman Ishwori Kafle, Accounting Officer Post Raj Neupane, and Education Branch Chief Meenadevi Acharya Lagaya. A total of 592 student athletes, including students from 8 secondary schools and Kaligandaki Gurukulam within the rural municipality, participated in the competition. Students competed in kabaddi, volleyball, and athletics.
