English Premier League club Manchester United fired their coach Ruben Amorim on Monday.
United will now be managed by Darren Fletcher for Wednesday's match against Burnley.
Amorim had only said on Friday that his relationship with the United management had cooled. United drew 1-1 with Leeds United on Sunday.
After that match, Amorim said he was ready to leave the club when his contract expired after 18 months. Less than 24 hours later, United announced the Portuguese coach had been sacked.
He has only been in charge for 14 months. United are currently sixth in the table with 31 points from 20 games.
