Rupandehi-11 has won a comprehensive victory against the Army in the Test match under the 'Pawan Kumar Sethia Memorial Cricket Tournament' organized by the Rupandehi Cricket Association in Bhairahawa.
Rupandehi defeated Tribhuvan Army Club 'A' by 101 runs on Monday.
Rupandehi scored 122 runs in the first innings on Sunday. Army scored 155 runs. In this process, Army's Jitendra Singh Thakuri was unbeaten on 58 runs.
In the second innings on Monday, Rupandehi declared its innings by scoring 205 runs. In which Dev Khanal scored 78 and Prajwal Thapa scored 42 runs not out.
Army's Anish Dhami and Paras Singh Dhami took 2 wickets each in the bowling. Chasing the target of 173 runs set by Rupandehi on the second day, Army's team was all out for 71 runs.
Army's Pradeep Pella scored 21, Jitendra Singh Thakuri scored 17 and Pradeep Singh Chaisir scored 16 runs. In the bowling, Rupandehi's Sandesh Thapa and Ajay Kumar Chauhan took 3-3 and Suraj Khadka and Vishal Bhusal took 1-1 wicket. Ajay Kumar Chauhan was declared the Man of the Match.
The two teams are competing in three formats. The two-day Test will be followed by the ODI series from Tuesday.
