Lamjung Marsyangdi Club has entered the final of the 33rd Triveni Cup football tournament in Lamjung after losing in the last minute of injury time to defending champions APF Club.

In the semi-final held on Saturday at the Sahaji Sports Ground in Besisahar, APF came close to the title by defeating Lamjung Marsyangdi 4-3 in a tiebreaker. 

After the regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw, the game went into extra time. After both teams failed to score in the additional 10 minutes, the decision was made through a tiebreaker.

APF's Anish Gharti Chhetri, Santosh Khatri, Yubaraj Khadka and Biswas Udas scored in the tiebreaker. Dipesh Dhimal and Mahesh Lama failed to score. Marsyangdi's Aaron Thapa, foreign players William Allen and Nigma Magar scored goals. Poshan Thapa, Abhishek Mahato and Avinash Syangtan's shots were unsuccessful.

Marsyangdi's foreign player Olav Afiz scored a goal in the 41st minute of the first half of the match, giving the team the lead. APF was reduced to 10 men after Mani Lama of APF received a red card in the 43rd minute of the second half. However, with a few seconds left in the seventh minute of injury time of the second half, Man Bahadur Rana equalized and brought APF back into the game.

Now, APF will compete for the title with the winner of the 'A' Division League champion Church Boys United and the home team Langdidevi Nalma. The semi-final between these two teams will be held on Sunday at 1 pm, informed the chairman of the organizer Triveni Youth Club, Tekjung Gurung.

The final match will be held on Monday at 1 pm.
