Machhapokhari Hit Club Change Taplejung has won the first Manabhara Gold Cup title. Machhapokhari stunned Laligurans Sporting Youth Club Surungkhim Taplejung by a 3-0 goal margin in the final match held at Khejenim, Faktanglung Rural Municipality-2 on Saturday.

Along with the title, Machhapokhari received a cash prize of Rs 302,082, a trophy, medal and certificate. The runner-up Laligurans  paid a prize of Rs 152,082. The winner and runner-up were presented with cups, medals and prizes by Koshi Province Industry, Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Khagen Singh Hangam, Rural Municipality Chairman Rajan Limbu, Vice Chairman Bikash Samra and others.

In the semi-finals held on Friday, Machhapokhari defeated Janasewa Adarsh ​​Sporting Club by a wide margin of 7-1 goals to enter the finals, while Laligurans defeated Navprayas Youth Club Hangdewa by a margin of 7-6 goals to reach the finals.  

The competition was organized to promote the locally produced major cash crop cardamom, as well as to protect and publicize 'Nahangma-Yak' and Gadi Danda, the places where the Limbu people spread across the world raise their heads, said Tulsi Dahal, president of the organizer Manabhara Sporting Club.
