Defending champion amateur golfer Rahul Bishwakarma has taken a five-stroke lead on the third day of the Surya Nepal Central Open.

Rahul beat pro golfer Jayaram Shrestha. Rahul shot a 1-over 73 on Wednesday to make an overall score of 10-under 206. Jayaram shot a 4-under 68 on Wednesday to make an overall score of 5-under 211, moving up to second place. Bhuvan Kumar Rokka finished the match at 4-over 76. He dropped to third place overall with an even-par 72.

Toran Bikram Shahi, Shukra Bahadur Rai and Dinesh Prajapati are jointly in fourth place with an overall score of 2-over 218. Toran carded the best 6-under 66 of the day. With this score, Toran moved up 10 places. Shukra and Dinesh played the third day at an even-par 72.

Nepal's number one pro player Neeraj Tamang, Bhuvan Nagarkoti and amateur golfer Ruben Thapa finished in joint seventh place. They scored an overall score of 6-over 222. Ruben and Neeraj shot 4-over 76 while Bhuvan had a poor 5-over 77.

Pradeep Kumar Lama and amateur Sam Doblard are tied for 10th place with 7-over 223 overall. Pradeep shot 2-over 74 and Sam shot 1-over 73.

Rahul, who is at the top for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, birdied the first, fifth and seventh holes to finish the front nine at even par 36. But he faced a bogey on the sixth hole and a double bogey on the par-3 eighth hole. A bogey on the 14th hole ended the back nine at 1-over 37.

Jayaram played 2-under 34 on the front nine by hitting three birdies on the first, fourth and seventh holes against a bogey on the second hole. After this, he saved one shot each on the 12th, 13th and 17th holes. A bogey on the 14th hole also ended the back nine at 2-under 34.

Bhuvan birdied the fifth hole, but bogeyed the sixth and eighth holes to finish the front nine at 1 over 37. He fared even worse on the back nine. He made an eagle on the 12th hole. But after that, he made a double bogey on the 14th hole and missed a shot each on the 13th, 16th and 18th holes. He finished the back nine at 3 over 3.
