The Lumbini Lions, the winners of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), arrived in Butwal on Wednesday for the trophy celebration. The team arrived in Butwal after celebrating the victory in all the districts of Lumbini Province. Lumbini Lions is also holding a Champions Trophy celebration concert in Butwal on Wednesday.

Lumbini Lions President Ishwar GC said that they have reached Butwal after visiting every district of Lumbini Province as part of the Champions Trophy Celebration Tour. He said that the efforts to promote the identity of Nepali cricket at the national and international levels by visiting and receiving blessings from all the districts of Lumbini Province have been successful.

‘We are very excited by the respect and interest in cricket received from all the districts of Lumbini,’ he said, ‘The concert has been organized in Butwal to share that happiness.’ He said that the concert, which will start at 7 pm on Wednesday at the Butwal Mandap to welcome the New Year 2026, will continue till 12 midnight.

The concert will feature performances by Nepali singers Durgesh Thapa, The Elements Band, Badri Pangeni, Vioma, Kavita Neupane, Bishnu Khatri, Anjila Regmi, Babita Dhital, Teriya Pun Magar, and others, said coordinator Sheetal Sharma. He said the program was organized to honor and share happiness with sports fans and Lions supporters who are connected to cricket.

The organizers have arranged free buses for spectators and sports fans to come and go from Sunwal, Bhairahawa, and Saljhandi at night. Lumbini Lions won the title by defeating Sudurpaschim Royals by 6 wickets in the final of the second edition of the NPL.
