Chamanpur Super Kings have emerged winners of the second edition of the Chandrapur Mayor's Cup League T-20 cricket tournament. Chamanpur defeated Devipur Royals by 6 wickets in the final at the Kotihome Sports Ground in Chandrapur-8 on Sunday.
In the competition organized by Chandrapur Youth Club, Devipur, who came in to bat after winning the toss, could not score much in the initial power play. Devipur's opening batsmen Mayan Yadav and Sahil Patel could not form a partnership. Mayan was caught by Vishal Patel for 6 runs after playing 7 balls. Sahil scored 39 runs after playing 26 balls.
Abhishek Rauniyar scored 18 not out after playing 19 balls, captain Vishal Susling scored 11 runs after playing 17 balls, Riaz Alam also scored 11 runs after playing 17 balls, Dinesh Bohara scored 8 runs after playing 13 balls, Ramchandra Dhami scored 5 runs after playing 6 balls and Arjun Gharti scored 5 runs after playing 5 balls. Devipur scored 112 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Chamanpur's Rajesh Yadav and Nirmal Gurung took 2-2 wickets and Vishal Patel and Ranjit Kumar took 1-1 wickets.
MD Sameer hit 3 fours and 1 six unbeaten and Chamanpur achieved the target in 14.5 overs. Supporting MD Sameer at the crease till the end, Vishal Patel scored 20 runs unbeaten off 14 balls. Chamanpur became the winner for the first time. In the previous edition of the Mayor's Cup, India's Muzaffarpur Cricket Team won. Chamanpur received 5 lakhs with the title and runner-up Devipur got 2 lakhs.
Opener Prajwal Thapa scored 23 runs off 16 balls and Abhishek Tiwari scored 21 runs off 15 balls. Dinesh Bohra of Devipur took 2 wickets and Riyaz Alam and Rayyan Alam took 1 wicket each. Nirmal Gurung of Chamanpur, who took 2 wickets for 11 runs in 4 overs, was named Player of the Match. Arjun Gharti of Devipur was the best batsman, Vishal Patel of Chamanpur was the best bowler. The Player of the Tournament was Sumit Shrestha of Samanpur Bolts. Chandrapur Municipality Mayor Sanjay Kafle presented trophies, cash and certificates to the winners and runners-up.
